FSI receives Presidents
Award from CaroTrans
Freight Systems Inc were awarded the CaroTrans President’s Award
in a recent ceremony in Cherryville North Carolina. The award was
in recognition of outstanding technology services provided by FSI
to New Jersey based Carotrans.
The award was presented by CaroTrans President John Hepworth to
FSI CEO Dale Hamrick. Mr Hepworth praised FSI’s ability to provide
continual excellence in systems development and support “FSI have
taken us from a system, that was not much better than an electronic
typewriter, to a state of the art information system in a very short
timeframe”.
FSI was formed in June 1999, by Dale Hamrick and Scott Nolen to
provide a full range of computing services for CaroTrans and another
major client. Since then they have grown to a staff of seven offering
custom software solutions, hardware support, network support and
consulting to clients in the transportation industry and local North
Carolina businesses.
They were initially tasked with completely replacing Carotrans’s
existing non Year 2000 compliant system . This involved developing
custom written operations software using the latest Microsoft technologies
and replacing all existing hardware (120 desktop computers and 12
servers) at CaroTrans’s eight locations between LA to New Jersey.
FSI achieved this within budget and timeframe. Since then FSI has
continued to develop the system from the initial base Y2K package
into a state of the art information system that has enabled CaroTrans
to dramatically improve efficiency and customer services.
Mr Hepworth cited FSI’s ability to create bug free software on
a timely as the key reason for FSI to receive the award.
